My role is split between work for the UK Native Seed Hub (UKNSH) and for the Living Ash Project (LAP) Phase II. I lead a study on vegetative propagation techniques for Ash (Fraxinus excelsior). This research project, funded by Defra, aims to secure Ash dieback-tolerant plants for the future. I provide applied research and practical assistance to the UKNSH, a cross-departmental project which supplies native seeds and plants to support habitat restoration and species reintroduction projects.

  • MSc Biology (specialized in Conservation and Systems Ecology), Wageningen University and Research (2021)
  • BSc Ecology, Cardiff University (2018)
  • UK Native Seed Hub (Legacy)

Mobilising Kew's seed collections, facilities and expertise "to enhance the resilience and coherence of the UK's ecological network by increasing the quality, quantity and diversity of native plants and seeds available for conservation and habitat restoration." This project has now concluded.
  • Living Ash Project (Legacy)

Developing and optimising vegetative propagation techniques for ash trees (Fraxinus excelsior) demonstrating tolerance of ash die back disease. This project has now concluded.
  • The Changing Chalk

Investigating, demonstrating and sharing evidence-based protocols for scrub management and the use of seed in chalk grassland restoration in the South Downs National Park.
  • Native Seeds for Restoration: diversity and resilience in the UK

Supporting the effective selection and use of native seed in the restoration of climate-resilient, genetically diverse plant populations in the UK.
